It nearly all came together for your Lady Raptors last night versus the Wichita Aero. Looking for our first win of the season, the Lady Raptors hung tough, keeping it tied 3-3 until the waning minutes of the fourth quarter, when a tough penalty resulted in the Aero's winning goal.
After a rocky start to their inaugural season, the Lady Raptors have gelled as a squad. They've been tough in every game since the home opener, and they looked sharp on both sides of the ball last night.
Offensively, three Lady Raptors scored a goal each: Reegan Hess, Amerie Hall, and Jordan Holmes. Hess, Madisyn Hunt, and Chiquita tallied assists on the night. Hunt and Hess were particularly aggressive in front of the net, barely missing on a number of shots and peppering the Aero's goalie with tough chances.
Holmes scored her first goal on the season in the third quarter to tie the game at 3-3.

Defensively, your Lady Raptors were as tight as they've ever been, shutting down Wichita's attack for most of the first half. Holmes, Emma Bordignon, Rowan Hess, Bryn Wilson, and Savannah Sonnenstahl were particularly tough along the boards, with Hunt, Hess, and Scarlett Zalaya keeping the pressure on up front.
In goal, your Lady Raptors continued their season-long habit of alternating keepers. As usual, Ashlyn Hall started the game, surrendering just two while making a number of outstanding saves. Katie Anderson, a two-way player who was also strong at midfield, took over in the second half, also giving up two while making tough stops in the clutch.
Your Lady Raptors close out their home season this Sunday, March 19, at noon vs. the Chicago Mustangs. Tickets are available online or through the PowerHouse box office.
